It’s shaping up to be another busy weekend for Gold Coast City! We’ve put together some of the highlights to give you some ideas to spice up your weekend.

Saturday 23 November

aquaSplash Gold Coast

aquaSplash is Gold Coast City’s newest water park attraction, located in the very heart of the Gold Coast at the Broadwater Parklands. The water park features a series of inflatable rides for the whole family to conquer.

aquaSplash is suitable for everyone over 5, and is open every day in November from 8am to 7pm.  Entry is $15 per person, for a 50 minute session, with family and group discounts available.

Cost: $15 per person, $40 for a family pass (2 adults and 2 children under 11).

fRETfEST – Original Live Music

fReTtfEST is a Live Music Showcase and Music Mentoring Program that provides live performance opportunities for singer-songwriters, from emerging amateur artists to professional artists.

Fretfest was established by Alan Buchan in 1997 to support folk, roots and acoustic music, helping musicians to take their first steps on the stage.  Pete Murray and Kate Miller-Heidke are among the many professional artists who began their careers at Fretfest.

Gilston Street Meet and Movie Night

Everyone is invited to the Gilston Street Meet and Movie Night in Frank Chasten Park on Saturday. Bring your picnic basket and enjoy an afternoon in the park and a movie.

Frank Chasten Park is just a 12 minute drive from Robina, opposite Gilston State School.

Sunday 24th November

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Episode

The world’s longest running sci-fi series is celebrating its 50th birthday in Robina this weekend with a 3D screening of the anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor.

Event Cinemas Robina Town Centre will host the birthday celebrations, with moviegoers encouraged to dress up as their favourite Dr Who character.

Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor will have four showings, at 11am, 11:45am, 1:15pm and 4pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children, and can be purchased online here.

Burleigh Beachfront Markets

Gold Coast City’s famous arts and crafts market will be held at Burleigh Heads this week. The markets have been running for over 20 years, with gifts, souvenirs, art and craft on sale.
