Friday 27 September

Friday Brew Jams

From 5pm to 8:30pm on the first Friday* of every month, make some noise for a good cause at the Brewhouse Bash at Burleigh Brewhouse. People travel far and wide (with a designated driver) to see the brew team throw on their aprons, the Brewhouse fire up the barbie and cook up German sausages for all. A local band always gets things warmed up on the stage, while fresh beer is drawn directly from the brewery’s coldroom and served on Brewhouse Bar taps. Along with beers, Sirromet wines and bubbles are available to try.

Supervised children are welcome. Entry is free. BBQ $5, beer and wine at bar prices.

A portion of the proceeds from every Brewhouse Bash is donated to a selected local club, group or worthy cause and new causes can be suggested to management.

In only a handful of years, our Brewhouse Bashes have contributed more than $30,000 to the local community.

Spotlight’s Basement Theatre Presents ON AIR! ON AIR!

The World Premiere performance of On Air, On Air has hit the stage at Spotlight Theatre.

A contemporary comedy, the story takes place in the hectic copywriting department of a busy Metropolitan FM Radio Station. Hard-nosed salesperson Kate needs an ad for a dodgy jewellery retailer written, produced & on air immediately! On air! On air! takes you on a lightning paced, funny behind the scenes journey through the glitter of advertising, exposing a world of high pressure. This witty, contemporary play invites you into a world that really exists. Welcome to a very, very, very bad day at the office.  Written by Peter Maden Directed by Helen Maden.

Sunday 29 September
Live at Bond – stringmansassy + Owen Van Larkins

Refined and sophisticated performers and unique arrangers of every musical genre, stringmansassy transcend their jazz and folk roots to create spellbinding, enthralling and passionate music. They have expanded the realm for guitar and voice, proving that it is possible to create an astonishing musical atmosphere with a small ensemble.

Lovers of music in all its forms, stringmansassy’s performances always retain elements of their influences: Bobby McFerrin, Maria Joao, Ralph Towner, Patti Griffin, Cleo Laine, Ella Fitzgerald, Sting, Tuck and Patti, Pierre Bensusen, along with Middle-Eastern, African and Celtic traditional music. The duo always creates a world of their own, in which passion flows like an electric current and each nuance of music is played with conviction, belief and beauty.

Supported by Owen Van Larkins, in collaboration with Fretfest.

3:00pm – 5:15pm ADCO Amphitheatre, Bond University.  Prizes and giveaways, dogs on leash welcome on grassy areas around amphitheatre. Children can bring bikes and scooters (remember the helmet!)
