Friday 6 September 2013 marks the annual White Balloon Day – a Bravehearts charity event aimed at raising awareness about child sexual assault and helping to support survivors to come forward and make recovery.
Wear white on Friday to show your support and visit White Balloon Day to find out how else you can get involved.

Anna Krien: Uncovering Australia’s Secret Stories – Rabbit + Cocoon, Miami
For your chance to see one of Australia’s most celebrated and renowned writers, head along to the Rabbit + Cocoon Arts Precinct in Miami Friday night to hear Anna Krien share stories of her captivating career of essays, journalism, fiction and poetry.
Anna is the author of Night Games (out now), as well as Into the Woods: The Battle for Tasmania’s Forests and Quarterly Essay 45 Us and Them: On the Importance of Animals. She has also been published in the Big Issue, The Monthly, The Age, Best Australian Essays (2005/2006), Griffith REVIEW, Voiceworks, Going Down Swinging, COLORS, the program, Frankie and Dazed & Confused.
Forming part of the Brisbane Writers Festival, this free event kicks off at 7pm this Friday night.
