Robina Group has achieved a $14 million sellout of all 15 stand-alone offices in its CityPods precinct, with the final commercial space selling for $1.055 million this week to a private investor.

The final 282sqm office, Pod 10, was sold to an international purchaser, with the deal brokered by Cindy Chan of AGC Property Centre.

The fully furnished office is now one of a limited number available to lease in CityPods, and is open by appointment.

Robina Group General Manager Hylton Slater said the project had attracted strong interest from both owner occupiers and investors, with the majority of purchasers based in Gold Coast City.

“CityPods has delivered a unique turn-key solution for small to medium businesses looking for a stand-alone space in the heart of CBDRobina,” he said.

“Of the purchasers, 80 per cent have been local, with two interstate and one international investor rounding out the 15 owners.

“Interestingly, about a third of the businesses at CityPods have re-located from within Robina, which demonstrates the confidence in the region and the strong underlying demand for new commercial space.

“There is nothing else in Gold Coast City like CityPods, which offers two storey offices, with drive-up access and a completely customisable interior.

“We had a fairly even split of owner occupiers and investors in this project – with CBDRobina boasting one of the lowest office vacancy rates in the nation at just 5.6 per cent, there is solid demand for blue chip commercial real estate.”

AGC Property Centre’s Principal Cindy Chan said the latest investor had been seeking a commercial asset in Gold Coast City and chose CityPods due to the potential for growth and solid returns.

“The family visited Gold Coast City and believe there is great opportunity for investors to reap the rewards of a strengthening market,” she said.

“CityPods’ central location, unique design and solid returns appealed to my clients, who have great confidence in Gold Coast City’s future as not only a business hub but also an attractive lifestyle destination.

“The family now has plans to extend their investment in the region to include a holiday home to allow for more regular visits.”

Mr Slater said CityPods was home to a wide variety of local and national businesses in the medical, property, technology and financial industries.

“A number of companies have chosen to make CityPods their new headquarters, with stand-alone office space that can be tailored to meet individual business needs rare in Gold Coast City,” he said.

“CBDRobina has already made a name for itself as Gold Coast City’s health, education and innovation capital, so it’s not surprising that CityPods has attracted both new and established businesses in these fields looking to capitalise on the ease of access and high profile signage exposure.”
