Every year across May and June, workplaces, communities, families and friends gather to share cuppa’s, coffee and cakes to raise money for cancer research for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

With one in two Australian’s being diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, it’s crucial that a cure is found and raising money for cancer research is vital for this cause.

The Cancer Council’s morning tea initiative aims to raise $13 million in 2014 and Australia is well on their way to the target, with the total so far sitting at $6,795,653.

Robina Group hold an annual morning tea event at their Rocket offices in Robina, with staff bringing in baked and bought goods to share together over a cup of tea or coffee. Staff donate both their baking time and some spare cash at the morning tea event and they also contribute throughout the year when indulging their afternoon chocolate cravings. Robina Group staff buy up chocolate bars whenever they see them on special and a $2 chocolate box is a permanent fixture in the office throughout the year, with all profits going to the cancel council.

Thanks to the generosity of the team at Robina Group, our Biggest Morning Tea made $347.80 and chocolate box sales totalled $423 this year. Robina Group then matched this total, allowing our team to contribute a grand total of $1,541.60 to the Cancer Council Queensland.

There’s still time to donate, host or get involved in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
