Gold Coast City are preparing to frock up tonight for the annual Gold Coast Mayoress Charity Foundation fundraising event tonight at Jupiters Hotel and Casino.

Mayoress Ruth Tate will host The Unforgettable Ball tonight, with all funds raised being donated back into the local community to Gold Coast City charities, including OzHarvest Gold Coast, Rosies, Havafeed, Surfers Paradise Anglican Crisis Centre, YHES House Southport and GC Project for Homeless Youth.

Aimed at supporting the disadvantaged members of the Gold Coast City community, the Mayoress Ball will provide these selected charities a share in over $200,000 worth of proceeds.

According to Lee Danahay, Operations Manager for Gold Coast City’s food rescue charity, OzHarvest, the generous donation from this annual fundraising event will contribute to the purchase of another OzHarvest van to assist their expansion within Gold Coast City.

Guests at tonight’s glitzy event will swing to the sounds of a big band, fronted by Tom Burlinson, followed by sweet soul sounds of Lisa Hunt. Guests will be invited to bid on a range of silent auctions that will be conducted during the night’s proceedings, with the major prize boasting a brand new VW Polo 66TSI Trendline, generously donated by Gold Coast Volkswagon.

The Robina Group are once again platinum sponsors for tonight’s black tie event and proud to contribute to these very worthy causes and their daily efforts in assisting the most vulnerable members of our community.
