Meanwhile, the number of shovel-ready sites in this thriving location is beginning to become scarce.  Not too long ago (maybe 3-4 years), we were reporting 50 hectares of approved sites remaining for sale/development in this growing masterplanned Gold Coast community.  However, a reported $27 million in recent sales activity has reduced this to a handful of centrally located sites, with strong demand for approved, development-ready sites set to continue.

Final Sites – Now Selling

  • 3,874sqm approved entry level site at the gateway to CBDRobina
  • 2,359sqm boutique infill development opportunity

Recent Sale:  Odyssey Private Aged Care – 7,732sqm site sold for $10.2M

Phil Usher established Odyssey Private Aged Care with the backing of superannuation fund, Sunsuper.  A Gold Coast-first facility will feature 148 aged care units co-located alongside a 95 place child care centre.  This inter-generational model has proven highly successful overseas, with benefits for both young children and the elderly.

The sale of the 7,732sqm site at 578 Christine Avenue in Robina settled January, 2019 and construction on the eight-level community will commence in April 2019.

Robina Group CEO Hylton Slater said the facility would complete the development of Robina Group’s award-winning CityVillage masterplanned community.

“The project will complement the terrace homes and apartments we have developed at CityVillage, adding to the diversity of the walkable, waterside community,” he said.

“The new development will also add to the extensive health and education amenity already available in CBDRobina, further cementing its reputation as one of the best serviced precincts on the Gold Coast.”

Recent Sale:  Bond University expands Robina presence with $8.85M site acquisition

Bond recently purchased a site on the doorstep of Robina’s Cbus Super Stadium. The Promethean Way property adjoins the Bond Institute of Health and Sport, former home of the Titans NRL team’s Centre of Excellence. The 9,524sqm vacant parcel sold for $8.85 million, taking Bond’s total Stadium Village landholding to 16,610 square metres (see satellite image), at a total investment of over $23.5M.  A Bond spokesperson was reported in the Gold Coast Bulletin as saying the purchase was ‘a strategic acquisition’.

Robina Central Planning Agreement

Development sites in Robina benefit from the Robina Central Planning Agreement (RCPA), which supports a wide mix of uses and town planning advantages.

“This makes the area highly desirable and, as a result of a recent run of site sales, there is an extremely limited number of approved development-ready sites now remaining for sale in Robina,” Robina Group CEO Hylton Slater said.
