Gold Coast City are gearing up for glitz and glam this Saturday 10 January 2015, where horse racing meets the beach for the Jeep Magic Millions Race Day at Gold Coast Turf Club.

The forecast is for sunshine and Saturday’s race day will top off a week of racing events as part of the annual Magic Millions Carnival.

Yesterday morning saw Surfers Paradise host racing royalty in VIP marquee tents, all watching on as thoroughbreds raced along the beach before the Magic Millions Barrier Draw.

Ambassador, equestrian Olympic silver medallist and royal darling of the horse circuit Zara Phillips is in town for the carnival events and helped open the Surfers Paradise barrier draw proceedings, taking part in a beach gallop during the prestigious race meeting.

Celebrations continued for opening night last night, with the Magic Millions Carnival kicking off with a celebrity-studded party in Surfers Paradise.

Today has held the Magic Millions famous flagship event, the Gold Coast City Yearling Sale. Celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, the 2015 Yearling Sale is expected to showcase the finest, world-class thoroughbreds and expected to well surpass last year’ sales figures.

Saturday 10 January will host the big event, the Jeep Magic Millions Raceday at the Gold Coast Turf Club and promises prestige, fashion and fun, including eight fast-paced horse races and the world-class Myer Fashions on the Field.

Gold Coast City’s Magic Millions is set to become Australia’s richest race meeting as the first ever $10 million raceday in 2016 and is this year offering $4.7 million in prize money.

The Carnival also promotes the progression of women in racing through engagement of female patron Zara Phillips, international racing commentator Francesca Cumani and the Magic Millions Racing Women $500,000 Bonus.
