Our Sunshine State has lived up to it’s name for the first half of the coldest season and wintry days and nights have been far from our minds in Gold Coast City. We’ve been lapping up unseasonably warm temperatures and our heaters, jackets and scarves have been collecting dust a little longer than usual. Other parts of Australia have not been quite so lucky with many areas experiencing record low temperatures.

As we rug up and snug up at home and work, what happens to those who don’t have a roof over their heads when winter hits? With this in mind, Triple J have launched Jacket Off – a campaign to encourage us to donate our winter woolies to Lifeline, Red Cross, Salvos, Smith Family and St Vincent De Paul to help warm up those in need.

It’s time to dig deep and dig out your old cardys, jumpers and jackets and donate them to charity to allow those less fortunate the opportunity to rug up. Join the Jacket Off revolution – send Triple J an image of your good deed and you might make it to the Wall of Fame. Post to social media and tag with #jacketoff to be part of the movement.
