Get ready to get your groove on Gold Coast City – the annual Groove n Food Festival kicks off today (Thursday 28 August), bringing an extended weekend of food, music and fun.
A lengthy line-up of fun festivities are planned, kicking off with Burleigh Brewing Co.’s up late event tonight, which promises punters a carpark concert, delicious local craft beer and yummy food served up from local street vendors.
Funky grandma-cool Burleigh bar and dining lounge Finders Keepers are also on board, hosting a food and wine matching celebration night on Thursday to coincide with gourmet food month.
On Friday, you can get on board the Burleigh Heads Groove Train, with a progressive degustation lunch at iconic Burleigh Heads eatery’s Oskars, Bluff Café, Bin 12 and Zullaz. For only $85 per head, this is a must-do indulgent event without the hefty price tag.
The weekend offers more groove goodness, with Saturday jam packed full of events. Burleigh Farmers Markets kicks off Saturday’s festivities, followed by live music at Memorial Park, featuring locals Jackson James Smith and Jake Whittaker. Saturday rounds out with Burleigh Underground Drummers concert event.
The final day of Groove n Food is Sunday and kicks off with the Burleigh Arts and Craft market along the famous beachfront stretch between Miami and Burleigh. Burleigh Bowls Club will then host Australian classic barefoot bowls and once you finish up bowling, head along to Groove n Tunes in the Park (John Laws Park), a lazy Sunday afternoon open mic session perfect for picnics and cruising into your Sunday evening.
Celebrate all things Burleigh and be part of the Groove n Food festival this weekend.
