A professional corporate image is important when you work for a successful developer with a reputation for quality. So when I realised it had been nearly a year since my scruffy mane had seen any professional TLC, I thought it was time to call in the help of the girls at Easy Teeze hair salon.

I popped down to the Easy T Centre on the corner of Scottsdale Drive and Christine Avenue and salon owner, Tessa set me up with the lovely Natalie to look after the natural disaster that was my long, dry blonde locks which featured about a good 10cms of darker regrowth.

After an initial consultation put me at ease that I was in good hands, and posing for my shameful ‘before’ photo, Natalie lopped off about 15cms right off the bat, so it was easier to work with the colour.

I was offered a tea or coffee and when my nice hot tea arrived, I was sneakily delighted that it was accompanied by one of those yummy little Aldi chocolate bars that taste exactly like Kinder Surprise.

I wanted to go to a lower maintenance colour closer to my natural dark blonde, so Natalie blended roots to ends by doing a half head of foils with fine weaves.  She alternated cool beige and soft blonde foils to achieve natural high and low-lights.

At the basin a toner was applied to counter warmth and soften the blondes.  A Redken chemistry shot treatment was used at the end of the colour service to help lock in the colour and to add concentrated amounts of protein and moisture to strengthen and soften the hair.

A lovely long scalp massage was a relaxing and luxurious end to the colouring process before Natalie completed the look with a layered style cut and blowdry.

I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome, if only the styling extended to my own every day skills, sadly a ponytail or bun is a regular part of my hair repertoire.

The highly accessible Easy T Centre retail and convenience centre was developed by Robina Group in 2007 and is anchored by an Aldi supermarket.

Easy Teeze is a specialist Redken salon.
