A kaleidoscope of colour is about to rain down on Robina this November with the Swisse Colour Run coming to Cbus Super Stadium.
The Gold Coast City event went on sale this Wednesday 23 July for the race that is hailed the ‘happiest 5km on the planet’ and runners are racing to get on board.
The colour run is a unique 5km walking, dancing and running race, whereby participants begin dressed in pristine whites and emerge at the finish line covered in vibrant paints in shades of pink, orange, blue and yellow.
Drawing inspiration from the India’s Holi festival, where Hindu communities celebrate the arrival of spring by showering each other in colour water, runners will encounter explosions along the course from ‘colour throwers’, using 100% natural food grade cornstarch.
Be sure to preserve some energy for the Finish Festival, where the party really begins and participants gather back together with their fans and race spectators in a colourtastic post-race event.
In addition to the colour throws throughout the course, the Finish Festival promises to deliver post-race colour throws of epic proportions, ensuring participants complete their day multihued, speckled and sparkling. Essentially, Robina will be home to thousands of rainbows on legs.

The Colour Run participants don’t need to be athletes, have a long list of personal bests or have trained at all. The colour run is all in the name of fun and caters for all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels, with options to walk or run, join a team, bring your family or go solo. Wheelchairs and prams are welcome and children under 5 are invited to come with their families for free.
Although The Colour Run is a commercial race and not for charity, there is the option for participants to motivate themselves by fundraising community organisations and ‘run for a cause’.
