A wave of celebration is about to wash over the Gold Coast as the Bleach* music and beach culture Festival returns for its third consecutive year from 7 to 23 March.

Featuring a melting pot of contemporary live music, pop up art installations and exhibitions, outdoor film programs, street parties and theatres, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better as Bleach* rolls through Gold Coast City sending its villages abuzz with activity.

The heart of the program takes place at the world famous beach breaks of the Southern end of the City, however this year’s festival is set to swell into CBDRobina with events and exhibitions at Gold Coast City’s premier shopping and entertainment precinct, Robina Town Centre, as well as Bond University.

Robina locals and visitors will be treated to an evening of colourful music, movement and dance with Trade Winds – a Lakeside performance featuring Polytoxic, one of Australia’s most exciting contemporary theatre dance companies.

Through a combination of innovation, imagination, lighting, choreography, technicolour projections and colourful costumes, Trade Winds tells a mesmerising tale of two women from different cultures navigating their way across the vast Pacific, combining long held traditions with the whims of pop culture.

Gold Coast brothers, Adam and Nathan Lyons – also known as Lyon Apprentice – will add a home grown flavour to the evening as their melodic tunes wash over the Lakeside venue. While the Samba Blisstas will inject some spice into the event with their rhythmic Brazilian inspired street percussion.

Bond University is also getting into the groove at the ADCO Amphitheatre with Live at Bond on Sunday 23 March – an evening of Jamaican folk music, reggae and ska with a performance by Nicky Bomba’s Bustamento and a professionally curated visual exhibition of poetic works by emerging and aspiring young writers.
