Robina will play host to the cream of the crop in rugby league, as the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match returns to Gold Coast City tonight at Cbus Super Stadium.

The NRL All Stars will take on the Indigenous All Stars in the annual rugby league clash that unites the sport and the nation.

The All Stars game was missed off last year’s packed rugby league calendar but has returned in 2015 and come back to its birth place of Gold Coast City, where the inaugural game played out in 2010.

Bringing together the highest level of skill in Australian rugby league, the All Stars match also represents the important celebration of unique and proud Indigenous culture and puts forward a shared vision for the future of Australia.

The week-long All Stars schedule sees players gain inspiring sporting and educational opportunities through community work and workshops, as well as the training and the game. The program aims to engage and inspire Indigenous communities through the celebration of their team on the national sporting stage.

Since the event’s commencement in 2010, all profits go towards investment into Indigenous community programs, with particular focus on Indigenous youth and helping to foster and facilitate their aspirations for the future.

According to Julie Curren, manager of Robina’s Cbus Super Stadium, the All Stars game is significant for the stadium , being a world-class level of sport and contributing to the celebration of Indigenous culture.

“Since opening in 2008, the Stadium has played host to numerous world class events and it’s a testament to the venue that it continues to attract the biggest names and brightest sporting stars to the Gold Coast” Julie said.

“Cbus Super Stadium is a venue built for the community, and Indigenous Australian’s are a huge part of our community here on the Gold Coast.  We are incredibly proud to play our part in the celebration of indigenous culture by hosting the All Stars event. Indeed the venue hosted the inaugural All Stars event in 2010, and we are delighted it has returned to the Stadium this year. ”Julie said.

Today’s event kicks off with a touch football match at 3pm, a state of origin inspired match with Queensland Indigenous Under 16 taking on NSW Indigenous Under 16 at 4.00pm, the Indigenous Women’s All Stars vs. the Women’s All Stars at 5.30pm and the main event at 7.45pm, where the Indigenous All Stars battle it out with the NRL All Stars.

In addition to the sporting spectacular, representing South East Queensland and the Yugambeh language region, the Yugambeh Youth Choir will be proudly performing tonight, uniting our community through song. To read more about Yugambeh Mobo, check out their Facebook page here
