Robina Group will support rebuilding the island nation of Fiji which was hit hard by Cyclone Winston. Robina Group has chosen to support the rebuilding efforts of the remote Nananu-i-ra family accommodation business, which is a major employer for the tiny village of Raki Raki – you can read their story and donate to their cause here.

The people of the island nation of Fiji have been hit hard by Cyclone Winston with tens of thousands of people losing their homes and their livelihoods in the devastating weather event that is the worst ever recorded in the southern hemisphere.

In a nation which many people survive on bare necessities alone, the impact of this devastating cyclone which recorded wind gusts up to 300km per hour is an event which will be felt for years to come.

Currently efforts are focusing on assisting with treating the injured and repairing sewerage farms which have been damaged to avoid the risk of disease and providing clean food and water along with shelter for those impacted by the disaster.

Also high on the priority list is the restoration of electricity and communications which will support the aid effort.

Please assist in any way you can with efforts to rebuild Fiji, every little bit counts!

ABC’s Triple J are also taking pledges all day today in their radio marathon appeal for Fiji.
