Way finding signage routes have been placed on walkways in Robina as part of the broader Robina Active Towns Program aimed at increasing the amount of walking and cycling trips within the area.
In Robina and Varsity Lakes there are more than 63km of pathways available for you to enjoy.
A joint initiative between the State Government and City of Gold Coast, a total of 7.7km of new walking and cycling routes have been installed in Robina and Varsity Lakes over the past two years with additional events and promotion to encourage locals to consider active travel.
The signage project was implemented following feedback that many people were unaware of the close walking and cycling proximity of key Robina destinations – so a total of three routes have been vibrantly signed directly onto walkways under the trial:
- Route Orange: Bond University to Robina Train Station (4.5 kilometres)
- Route Yellow: Train Station to Robina Town Centre (1.1 kilometres)
- Route Purple: Robina Town Centre to Robina State School (1.4 kilometres)
- View a map of these routes HERE.
Feedback is being sought on the project to further expand it in other locations and add three remaining routes in Robina and Varsity Lakes.
If you’ve seen the signs and would like to leave a comment, please go to the City of Gold Coast website and let them know any of the following:
- How you found out about the way finding signs and walking and cycling routes?
- Do the signs provide useful information for nearby walking and cycling destinations?
- Were you surprised at the close proximity of any key destinations?
- Have the signs changed your travel habits?
