The ‘paleo’ diet, also known as the ‘caveman diet’, is a modern nutritional eating plan which channels the diet of wild animals and plants eaten by humans during the prehistoric paleolithic era.

The paleo diet has enjoyed a resurrection from prehistoric days and rapidly gained popularity in recent years. The basic premise is more meat and protein, fewer carbohydrates and starchy vegetables and high fibre intake gained from non-starchy vegetables and fruits instead of grains.
