Multiple ARIA award winning, home-grown international stars of folk rock, The Waifs, are on tour in Australia and set to a play a once-only Gold Coast City gig at Miami Marketta next month.
The Waifs have travelled the lyrical road together for 22 years, with WA songbird sisters Vikki Thorn and Donna Simpson and NSW guitar genius Josh Cunningham forming the trio in 1992. Countless national and international tours, six kids and seven epic award winning albums later and the Waifs have still got it.
Fusing funk, folk, roots, country and rock in a unique blend of acoustic energy, the sisters exquisite and haunting harmonies connect seamlessly with Cunningham’s soulful guitar. Add Thorn’s powerful harmonica and the trio’s soulful story-telling lyrics and you have a show not to be missed.
Presented by Rabbit Media and supported by Liz Stringer, the Waifs will take the stage at Miami Marketta in the Rabbit and Cocoon Gold Coast City arts precinct in Miami on Sunday 9 December 2014.
A favourite local haunt, Miami Marketta has exploded in popularity and is now one of Gold Coast City’s best music and food venues, attracting huge crowds to every event.
