Robina is home to a fresh, innovative and original delivery of children’s health care – it’s Kids 1st Health, Australia’s first private primary and acute paediatric health care service, run by Nurse Practitioners in collaboration with a Paediatrician.

In response to GP and hospital wait times, Kids 1st Health offer an expert alternative arrangement, whereby Gold Coast City kids can be treated quickly and economically for unexpected day to day infections and illnesses, immunisations, developmental screening and issues, general checkups, minor injury and preventative health such as nutrition.

Offering a walk-in service, Kids 1st Health fills a gap in the current health care system, meaning parents don’t have to wait days to get in to see their GP but can avoid resorting to visiting hospital emergency rooms for minor and temporary illnesses and injuries.

Unique to Gold Coast City, Kids 1st Health is led by Nurse Practitioners (NP’s) – registered nurses trained to Masters Degree level and authorized to autonomously and collaboratively operate in an advanced clinical capacity.

NP’s at Kids 1st Health have extensive paediatric health and emergency department experience and working closely with the clinic’s Paediatrician, can assess, diagnose, order pathology and radiology investigations, prescribe medications and refer to specialists.

In addition to the first-rate medical clinic team, an on-site allied health care team specializing in women’s and children’s wellbeing is also available for consultation and treatment.

With most consultations costing a small $25 out-of-pocket fee and most review visits being bulk billed, Kids 1st Health is cost effective without compromising on quality of care.

Located in Robina’s growing Medical Hub, Kids 1st Health is in close proximity to the newly expanded Robina Public Hospital and the Queensland Health Medical Precinct.

The newly expanded Robina Public Hospital and the Queensland Health Medical Precinct anchor the rapidly emerging Robina Medical Hub.

With the $287 million expansion completed in 2011, the Robina Public Hospital has been transformed into a 364 bed teaching hospital incorporating an Accident and Emergency facility, greater surgery capacity, new and expanded services and the Bond University Clinical Education & Research Centre.

Located on the ground floor of the Robina Hospital, the Bond University Clinical Education & Research Centre (BUCERC) is a collaborative project between the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, Bond University, and Queensland Health.

Primarily used by the Bond MBBS students, there are now plans to extend use to the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine’s Doctor of Physiotherapy students and other professional health programs offered by Bond University.

Also located in nearby Stadium Village is another facility of the Bond University Medical Faculty – the Institute of Health and Sports

Bond University is as a national leader in Exercise and Sports Science education and research in Australia.

The university acquired the former Titans Centre of Excellence building on the corner of Stadium Drive and Promethean Way at Robina and has relocated its School of Health Sciences here. The location is adjacent to Cbus Super Stadium and Robina Train Station, close to the Robina Hospital.

Bond University Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Brailsford said Bond will be “in a health and sports hub that will provide unparalleled opportunities and access for our physiotherapy, sports and exercise science, and sports management students and professors.

“Our students will have access to and gain first-hand experience in world-class health and sport training facilities and study alongside professional athletes and industry leaders.  From this building Bond will lead its $14 million, three-year Collaborative Research Network Advancing Sports Science project working with the AIS, UQ and University of Sydney as well as a professional sport-related research projects. “This is an exciting, progressive step forward for the University and the whole Gold Coast community,” said Professor Brailsford.

The Queensland Health Medical Precinct is also located in Robina’s health nebulous. This facility brings together a mix of essential health services including chronic disease management, post acute care, integration between child and youth mental health, child health and antenatal and post natal care services.

From core health care services to alternative therapies, Robina’s Medical Hub is excelling in meeting the Gold Coast City community’s health and wellbeing needs and it’s continued growth ensures that Gold Coast City is second to none in terms of easy access to top quality health care.
