Robina is set to rock this Sunday 20 July with the 2014 Live at Bond series rounding out with a huge finale event, kicking off from 2pm.
Bond’s ADCO Amphitheatre will showcase home-grown Tweed Heads Celtic-country roots band the Round Mountain Girls and Gold Coast City can expect to be thoroughly entertained, with vibrant, high energy performance of banjo, mandolin, fiddle, drums and guitar.
With an extensive and growing list of big gigs, including Woodford, the Gympie Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Canberra Folk Festival and Byron Bay Bluesfest, the Round Mountain Girls now add Bond to their impressive resume.
Expect the unexpected – this vibrant country-inspired band are made up of five male musicians hailing from border town Tweed Heads and take their name inspiration from the local legend of Bogangar’s Round Mountain.
Winners of North Coast Entertainment Industry awards Best in Folk, their blistering live show promises to rock Robina this Sunday.
Round Mountain Girls share the Bond stage with local four-piece music sensations Quatro, made up of two current Bond students and their two former Queensland high school friends.
According to Bond’s Community Engagement Manager, Sharon Solyma, the Live at Bond series gives students the opportunity to pursue their musical passions and perform live to enhance their following.
Sharon said the Live at Bond initiative also gives Bond students and the Gold Coast City community the chance to see up and coming artists from all genres, as well as established headline acts such as the Round Mountain Girls.
Sunday’s event will kick off at 2pm with Quatro heating up the Bond University ADCO Amphitheatre stage ahead of Round Mountain Girls. Entry and parking are completely free and drinks and snacks can be purchased onsite all afternoon.
