Why give blood?
Blood can’t be bought; it can only be given and blood donation has an immediate impact on people’s lives. With one in three people needing a blood product in our lifetime, chances are eventually it will be you or someone you love. The people who need blood – whether for cancer, illness, surgery, accidents or other medical needs – aren’t just a statistic, they’re your family, your friends, your workmates.
The need for blood never takes a break
Australia needs around 100,000 donations in December, but with many regular donors away or busy, more people like you need to give the gift of blood — particularly if you’ve never donated before. Blood is particularly important for cancer patients, people with serious immune conditions, and women giving birth.

Get others on board with Red25
If your workplace has a focus on social responsibility, there is a corporate program called ‘Red25’ which local businesses can get involved in. With this program you are able to track via an app how many individual donations are made and how many lives you save together as a team. Red25 is a unique giving program that unites organisations around Australia to save lives through blood donation. By joining Red25, your organisation will be a part of one of the most important cause-related brands in Australia.
Red25 members are on a mission to save lives; to achieve 25% of all blood donations needed in this country. Red25 is the group blood donation program facilitated by the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. More than 80 years ago the Blood Service was the first, and is still the only organisation to collect and supply vital life-saving blood from volunteer donors in Australia. They unite with organisations and community groups who are looking for ways to make a positive difference; a difference that is meaningful and valuable, but that won’t disrupt their day-to-day activities.
