Coast’s who’s who flock to fundraise at annual Mayoress Ball
Gold Coast City will be dressing to impress this Saturday 11 May for the 7th annual Gold Coast Mayoress Charity Foundation Ball, to be held at The Star Hotel and Casino in Broadbeach.
Every year, the Gold Coast City business community and local personalities unite to attend the event, hosted by Mayoress Ruth Tate to raise money through ticket sales, auctions and donations for local Gold Coast charities.
According to Mayoress Tate, for the last seven years, the purpose of her hosting this ball with the local community has been to raise funds for those most in need on the Gold Coast, who do not receive Government funding.
‘The ball has attracted over 700 guests and given over $1.1million to local charities including OzHarvest, Havafeed, Oxenford & Coomera Community Youth Centre, St John’s Crisis Centre, Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth, YHES House and Men of Business,” Mayoress Tate said.
‘This year will see us getting the party started with the help of Furnace and the Fundamentals, guests will enjoy a sumptuous three course meal with free-flowing drinks, a silent and live auction,” she said.
As a long term sponsor of the event, Robina Group is also pleased to welcome guests to their table from groups they sponsor through their philanthropy program. This year guests include representatives of the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation and local business network The Robina Hub.
