As the geographical heart of Gold Coast City, CBDRobina continues to attract a dynamic range of health and human services.
Continuing to grow as a vibrant and diverse health hub, Robina is home to a range of health services, including Robina Hospital, Queensland Health Precinct and Bond University’s $2.7 million research and teaching facility.
Robina’s central location sets this economic hub apart as a magnetic destination for Gold Coast City’s leading health and human service providers.
As a leading provider of community support and aged care services across the state, Ozcare assists more than 15,000 Queenslander’s daily, with a range of services including in-home care, nursing and aged-care support.
According to OzCare’s Administrative Services Executive Officer, Russell Young, OzCare’s Highfield Drive location in Robina was the obvious choice for their Gold Coast City office.
“Looking for a new office to house our expanding team, Robina stood out as a clear choice for Ozcare’s Gold Coast base. The location affords us easy access to the north and south, allowing us to maximise the number of clients we can support and assist every day.” Russell said.
“The award-winning building also provides our staff with state of the art amenities and allows for future growth and development of our services.” Russell said.
“It means we can continue to offer a diverse range of services including aged care, community care, and community support to the Robina and greater Gold Coast communities.” Russell said.
Also located in Highfield Drive, with an additional location in Robina Town Centre Drive, is not-for-profit health, aged and community care providers Anglicare Southern Queensland.
Anglicare Southern Queensland’s community office on Highfield Drive provides all in-home services to the community, such as professional nursing care, physiotherapy, and all other allied health services, along with personal care and in-home respite, designed to give carers a break and some time to themselves.
The Respite Centre at Robina Town Centre provides centre based aged respite day care, along with a fantastic range of invigorating and innovative lifestyle programmes and day trip access the Gold Coast and Hinterland region.
According to Nigel Aberdour, Community Services Manager of Anglicare Southern Queensland, Robina’s connectivity and accessibility to Gold Coast City was a driving factor in locating two branches here.
“As a community service provider delivering care to clients in their own homes across the whole Gold Coast City, Robina was easily a fantastic location to operate from, as it is essentially bang in the middle, at the heart of the Gold Coast, providing us with almost equal access to any point.” Nigel said.
“A further influencing factor was the proximity to the main arterial routes and motorway, again for operational and logistic benefits.” Nigel said.
“Robina is a vibrant and growing community. Not only do we provide home services such as nursing, we also operate one of our two aged care respite centres from Robina Town Centre, providing great accessibility for clients and their carers alike.” Nigel said.
“Robina is a great place to work from with its well-designed leafy green streets, parks and walkways.” Nigel said.
For an organisation with a large fleet of vehicles travelling all around the community, Nigel says ‘coming home’ each day to their base at Robina is cost-effective for Anglicare Southern Queensland.
“The Gold Coast is a busy and large city. Operating a fleet where we can function in such a way that we reduce much of our travelling time due to being so central is really beneficial from many perspectives.” Nigel said.
