Robina’s Bond University opens up this weekend to more than 1,000 prospective students, allowing them to discover how Bond can bring their ambition to life.
Bond’s annual Open Day kicks off this Sunday 13 July 2014, giving the Gold Coast City community and beyond the exciting opportunity to explore the Robina campus and see first hand how Bond can provide the perfect pathway to achieve individual goals.
Open Day promises a carnival atmosphere, with a program bursting with events, including student film movie showcase, photo booth and live roaming entertainment from Bond sports, performing arts and music students. There’s the chance to get mad in the science tent and create a bouncy ball, slime and hot ice. Guests can get their CSI on and dust for prints in the crime scene at the Forensics tent. There’s even a live football game, with Bond Bullsharks hosting a home game in AFL at 1pm at the AFL field.
More than just an interactive exploration, Bond’s Open Day is the unique opportunity for the future leaders of all industries to see and experience what is available for them to achieve their goals.
According to Bond’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Tim Brailsford, Open Day gives prospective students the chance to engage with existing students and academics and get involved in a varied interactive activities across all faculties.
“We are showcasing the future of education here at Bond and will be rolling out new programs, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and introducing innovative ideas in a way that gives prospective students clarity and clear choices,” Professor Brailsford said.
The Faculty of Business will showcase newest program Actuarial Science and also open doors to Bond Start-Up Space, the platform of promise for future entrepreneurs to turn innovative ideas into commercial reality.
Guests can tour the multi award winning Abedian School of Architecture and witness first hand cutting edge technology, with the architectural robot in action. Test the latest student creations and emerging technologies at the Faculty of Society and Design’s multimedia and games hub and practice filming and news reading on camera at Bond’s state of the art film and television studios.
The Law Faculty will showcase a mock trial to allow budding legends of the legal world to unpack nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty.
Guests of the Health Sciences and Medicine Faculty can check their mobility, strength, fitness and nutrition, behold the future when viewing cutting edge medical laboratory equipment and visualize their potential in criminology at crime scene spaces.
There’s something unique about this world-class institution’s campus atmosphere and Professor Brailsford said that Open Day showcases this distinction, as well as the depth of learning experiences Bond offers.
“Bond University has some of the world’s best educators and our campus facilities are second to none, but it is the Bond Community and the Bond experience that our graduates tell us is what sets us apart,” Professor Brailsford said.
“Becoming a Bondie opens doors and provides opportunities internationally across all levels and in all areas of business and industry. Open Day is a great introduction to that experience.”
Open Day runs from 10am to 3pm and campus tours depart every half hour.
