EXPANDING training provider Evocca College is launching its Gold Coast City IT and multimedia courses after securing space at The Rocket in the growing education hub of CBDRobina.
The college, which already offers a travel and tourism course from its Southport campus, has taken 462sqm in The Rocket on a three-year lease with two three-year options.
Evocca’s new Robina campus is over two levels in The Rocket’s annexe building with a frontage to busy Laver Drive.
Evocca College national development manager Zane Beard said the company chose CBDRobina for its additional Gold Coast City location because of its centrality, accessibility and range of services for students.
“The crucial factor for us was accessibility – a central location that is easily reached by public transport or car,” he said.
“The Rocket was an obvious choice given that Robina Train Station and bus interchange is just across the road.
“Another important consideration was the range of retail and other infrastructure available within walking distance to our students and staff in CBDRobina.
“We also liked the modern design of The Rocket and the facilities within the building, including a cafe, 24/7 gym, bike racks, shower and locker room facilities and surrounding recreational green space.”
Mr Beard said Evocca College offered a range of IT and multimedia diploma courses that helped students to become industry-ready in 12 months.
He said the Robina campus would offer training from early October.
“We attract students who want a relevant and flexible course that will help them break into the digital industry,” he said.
Evocca College offers onsite, online and distance education courses in business, IT, travel and tourism, and community services.
It now has 17 locations across Queensland and NSW.
The Rocket houses an impressive line-up of corporate tenants including WMS Chartered Accountants, GHD, Slater & Gordon, Members Alliance, Electrometals Technologies, building society Wide Bay Australia and Guvera.
The 16-level tower’s office component, which sits above a street-level retail precinct fronting Laver Drive and Robina Town Centre Drive, is close to achieving full occupancy with just two spaces now available for lease.
The Rocket was developed by the Robina Group and comprises 13,500sqm of office, retail and restaurant space.
It is centrally located, just 300 metres to Robina Town Centre and only 150 metres to both Robina Hospital and the Robina Train Station and transport hub.
Businesses based at The Rocket have access to free street-level and basement visitor parking and three levels of basement staff parking.
The building has been awarded a four-star Green Star Design and 4.5-star NABERS Energy rating.
