CBDRobina continues to cement its position as the city’s preferred business hub with projects valued at approximately $180 million recently completed or underway in the Scottsdale Drive precinct alone underpinned by strong leasing and sales.

Robina Group General Manager, Hylton Slater, said 2014 had started strongly and the coming 12 months would see a series of further development starts.

“During 2013 we saw a surge of development activity in the M1 Business Precinct of CBDRobina and that wave of activity continues strongly this year,” he said.

“The M1 Business Precinct is just one hotspot within CBDRobina which continues to expand and evolve as the business, retail, medical and transport hub for a burgeoning urban-region that extends well beyond the city.

“The 100 percent lease-out success we’ve had on several individual projects opens the door to new projects.”

Mr Slater said both Robina Group and a number of other private entities had projects lined up or underway on land made available by the Group.

He said Robina Group had invested hundreds of millions of dollars in Robina and that over almost 35 years it had evolved into arguably the region’s most thriving and people-friendly business activity centre.

“Every week, new businesses make the move to CBDRobina, because of its vibrant spectrum of facilities and because of its efficient and high-capacity infrastructure,” he said.

“CBDRobina’s accessibility and connectivity is a colossal draw card for companies.”

The fully leased sign has gone up on the $4.2 million M1X Energy Centre in the M1 Business Precinct which was recently completed. Suitable for showroom, warehouse and service industry uses, M1X Energy Centre comprises five commercial tenancies with a total area of 1809 square metres. The last two leases were finalised last December.

Operators within M1X include the Natalie Group skin and body care manufacturers, Systems Cabling Australia, and the world’s first NeuroPhysics functional performance centre which opened its doors in January.

M1X Energy Centre is located on Scottsdale Drive, opposite Robina Police Station.

Robina Group’s $14 million high-profile CityPods precinct, a new commercial office concept, also makes a stand-out addition to the Scottsdale Drive-centred M1 Business Precinct. Recent sealing of stage one titles delivers the first four pods ready for occupation. The second stage of CityPods is also now complete, adding a further four business spaces to the project. Three office pods have already been sold or leased and five are now available for sale or lease

Development of a further seven of the innovative stand-alone two storey offices in 2014 will complete the project. Three CityPods are proposed for medical uses being ideally located in close proximity to Robina Hospital, the Robina Health Precinct and Easy T Medical Centre.

A 7-Eleven service station and convenience centre, located adjacent to CityPods, was completed and opened in late December, with a value of $6 million. The 3,294 square metre site was sold by Robina Group in 2013.

The fully leased sign has also gone up at the recently completed three storey, $8 million Condev building located in Scottsdale Drive.

“All four of these projects are within the M1 Business Precinct where there are now only four sites remaining for sale, ranging in size from 3043 square metres to 5201 square metres,” said Mr Slater.

He said work was rapidly progressing on the nearby $15.75 million Masters Home Improvement Centre which is due to open next week. Masters is located in Scottsdale Drive, opposite James Frizelle’s $20 million automotive showroom precinct, completed in 2013.

Robina Storage Centre also on Scottsdale Drive has just completed a $1 million additional stage of 70 new storage units and they are almost fully let. This brings to 750 the total number of storage units in this facility which is accessible 24/7 and features state of the art security.

“It is fair to say that the level of interest in CBDRobina is at an all time high and Robina Group is fielding strong enquiry from companies, businesses and individuals who are seeking to lease or buy space across the board in this location,” said Mr Slater.

“You only have to look at the number of business locating within CBDRobina to see where the majority of people want to be.”

Mr Slater said investor confidence levels were on the rise and market sentiment was improving so Robina Group expected 2014 to be another solid year of growth within CBDRobina.
