Private investors Peter and Dianne Lehninger have secured an office in Robina Group’s $14 million CityPod precinct in CBDRobina, on the back of the completion of the first two stages of the project.
The Gold Coast City couple settled on the purchase of the 304sqm office pod, for an undisclosed price, last week.
Following completion of the first four unique offices in January, the second four stand-alone office pods in the distinctive CityPod precinct, situated on Scottsdale Drive, were completed last month (February).
Mr Lehninger said the couple decided to invest in CityPods because of its prime location in CBDRobina and the level of activity underway in the area.
”We believe Robina is the number one area to own an office,” he said.
“We are familiar with the area and have noticed the significant expansion taking place, with major car companies like Mazda and Mercedes operating from there, a huge new Masters now open and an array of other development completed, underway or coming up.
“We like the feel of the whole CBDRobina area and see it as a real go ahead destination that will do well for us in the long run.”
Mr Lehninger said the couple, who retired from their Burleigh Heads-based frozen food distribution business in 1999, had a number of commercial investments and found the distinctive design of CityPods appealing.
“Each CityPod is unique, and the innovative design should really appeal to professionals,” he said.
“As you are driving along Scottsdale Drive, your eye is drawn to these offices because of the vibrant design and the significant street frontage of the precinct.”
Mr Lehninger said he had appointed CBRE agents Tania Moore and Cody Buck to lease the premise.
Ms Moore said the location in CBDRobina, at the geographical heart of Gold Coast City, would be a major drawcard.
“Vacancy in Robina is very tight and there are not a lot of opportunities out there, particularly for a brand new office of this quality,” she said.
“The close proximity to the M1 and train station makes CityPods easily accessible and the way the offices have been designed provides for highly visible corporate signage. You don’t get that level of branding very often.
“There is already strong interest from professional service companies, particularly engineering and medical groups, due to the position near the Robina Hospital and Health Precinct and the fact approvals can be secured for medical use.”
National medical device distribution specialist Pyramed has already purchased a CityPod, and are currently fitting out their new CityPod, with a view to relocating its headquarters to the precinct in the coming weeks.
Robina Group general manager Hylton Slater said CityPods is the answer to the strong market demand for stand alone office headquarters in a central location.
