CBDRobina is boosting its status as a major business hub for Gold Coast City with a host of commercial projects to the tune of nearly $180 million under construction or recently completed in the high growth suburb.
Robina Group general manager Hylton Slater said the abundance of construction activity in CBDRobina was cementing its position as a sought after business, retail, health and transport hub for the region.
“More and more business operators are being drawn to Robina’s huge array of facilities and infrastructure,” he said.
“They are buoyed by the precinct’s accessibility and connectivity and subsequently we are witnessing the ongoing rollout of new commercial projects and the upgrade of existing facilities to accommodate this continued growth.”
The first of the wave of new projects to be completed is James Frizelle’s Automotive Group’s $20 million showroom precinct in the Robina Automall which fronts Brabham Circuit, Scottsdale Drive and Christine Avenue.
The three state-of-the-art buildings on the expansive 15,000sqm site were completed earlier this month (September) and now house Gold Coast Mazda, Robina Hyundai and Robina Volkswagen.
Also recently finished is Robina Group’s Riverwalk Offices at 69 Laver Drive which saw the creation of two premium new office spaces that are now available to lease.
Robina Group’s $14 million CityPods office precinct is taking shape on Scottsdale Drive, with the first stage expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Strong sales and leasing enquiry for the standalone two-storey offices has prompted the developer to bring forward construction of the second stage, adding a further four office pods to the construction program being undertaken by builder Rawcorp.
Work is also rapidly progressing on a $15.75 million Masters Home Improvement centre, due to open in early 2014 and developer QIC Global Real Estate, which also owns Robina Town Centre, is undertaking a $120 million upgrade to the Centre’s car parks and Food Market Mall precinct.
Gold Coast City-based builder and project manager AP Constructions has started work on a $6 million service station and fast food centre on a 3294 sqm commercial site in the M1 Business Precinct, the second local project for the group which also completed Hinterland Toyota’s striking Robina Automall showroom.
Construction is also well under way on a new stage of self-storage units at Robina Storage Centre on Scottsdale Drive which will become one of the largest self-storage facilities in Gold Coast City upon completion in coming weeks.
Mr Slater said the value of commercial property investment in CBDRobina was a sign of the times, with confidence and market sentiment improving.
“It has often been said that you can judge the state of the Gold Coast City property market by the number of cranes on the skyline and if that is true then this groundswell of activity speaks volumes about the market in Robina,” he said.
