Local mother of three, Kimberley Welman has been a resident of Robina for over 20 years and is about to embark on the journey of a lifetime, with her first book set to be published internationally in January.
Kimberley’s business, StayStrongMummy, has over 100,000 loyal social media fans and she’s become one of Australia’s favourite “mum bloggers” with her down-to-earth approach to health, fitness and wellbeing.
What began as one mother’s mission to share her journey to strength, health and fitness – with three children in 19 months including twins, has become a global movement and ever-expanding online community, full of women motivating one another to live healthier lives.
“I began blogging about my journey as a mother around three years ago,” she said.
“My social media following really took off about eight months into it all and one video clip of a workout I did in my backyard in Robina with the kids went viral and gained over 50 million views. From there, it’s been a constant and fast-paced ride.
“I was approached by a literary agent in New York and fast-forward to today, I have a book launching globally on January 5 and it’s called the StayStrongMummy Fitness Plan.
“The book will feature recipes, exercise routines and emotional advice and is designed to fill the mother-shaped hole in the current fitness landscape.”
The book is co-authored by fellow fit mum Victoria Reihana. A personal trainer and the brains behind the StayStrong Mummy training and food plans, Victoria has been providing fitness and nutrition guidance to clients two decades and is now a dedicated StayStrongMummy team member helping Kimberley transform woman’s lives.
While Kimberley enjoys being able to share her messages on an international stage, she says there is no place like home.
“I’ve lived in Robina for over two decades and I love keeping my feet firmly on the ground,” she said.
“I grew up here with my sisters and parents and to now be raising my own family here, and also running a business from home, is pretty special.
“I remember going to opening of Robina Town Centre 20 years ago and now I’m collaborating with them on some super exciting projects.
“There’s no place like home when you’re a busy mum. I’ve built my following, brand and business by showcasing how busy mums can exercise, cook nourishing family meals and take care of themselves in the comfort of their own home – and I’m super excited to continue that journey.”
Kimberley will be hosting a free ‘Detox Your Pantry for Mums’ workshop at Robina Town Centre’s The Kitchens in early January. For further details on the workshop and also her book launch, keep an eye on her social media pages and website www.staystrongmummy.com
