The doors have opened to Robina’s newest healthcare offering – Primary Medical Centre Robina – adding to the more than $450 million in public and private investment in the area’s thriving health and medical precinct.
Located on Campus Crescent, in the heart of CBDRobina’s health hub, Primary Medical Centre Robina will offer a full range of onsite medical services, including general practitioners, radiology, pathology collection, nursing, dental and physiotherapy services, and an emergency treatment room and pharmacy. Primary Medical Centre Robina is operated by Primary Health Care Ltd, one of Australia’s premier listed healthcare companies with a commitment to quality, affordable and accessible healthcare for all Australians.
The centre is part of a $64 million investment in Robina’s health and medical precinct by Australian Unity, including Robina Private Hospital and the Campus Alpha Health Services building, which provides a range of services supporting youth mental health, aged care, rehabilitation and renal medicine.
CBDRobina is also home to the 364-bed Robina Hospital, Queensland Health’s Robina Health Precinct as well as Bond University’s Clinical Education & Research Centre and Institute of Health and Sport.
Adding to existing healthcare facilities, leading publicly-listed provider Japara Healthcare is in the process of building a lifestyle-focused $30 million aged care project on Scottsdale Drive, which will feature 106 beds and is anticipated to open in mid-2019.
Australian Unity Head of Healthcare Property for Wealth and Capital Markets Chris Smith said the opening of the Primary Medical Centre Robina added to what was already a significant healthcare precinct at Robina.
“Australian Unity is excited to announce that Primary Medical Centre Robina has now opened its doors to its first patients,” he said.
“Robina is a fast-growing suburb in Gold Coast City and Australian Unity is pleased to be able to service the huge demand for health and medical infrastructure with its investment in Primary Medical Centre Robina, Campus Alpha Health Services and the Robina Private Hospital.”
Robina Group chief executive officer, Hylton Slater said such continued investment in the area by leading healthcare providers was recognition of Robina’s leading health and medical hub.
“Robina has become a premiere health precinct for not only Gold Coast City but South East Queensland and the eastern seaboard, with significant investment from both the public and private sectors in recent years,” he said.
“To have an industry leader of the calibre of Australian Unity focusing significant investment here will see Robina continue to solidify its reputation as a centre for key services and innovation as well as research and development.”
