“Espresso Martini please” … “Yes, but which one?”
Last Friday the insideR team had a fun, yet full day on our feet, shooting new photography around CBDRobina. Now, I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of a better way to reward ourselves at the end of a working week, than getting the girls together to taste test cocktails!
You’ve probably figured out by now that we are big fans of The Kitchens at Robina Town Centre. We have collectively worked our way around most of the fresh culinary delights in the months since this precinct opened. Between us, we had enjoyed many a hot brew downstairs at Crafted Coffee Co, but why … WHY did it take so long to try their cocktails?!
You’ll find espresso martinis on the menu at most bars these days. Upstairs at Crafted, you won’t find just ONE espresso martini, but a whole range of espresso martinis and other coffee-inspired cocktails. The hard part was definitely choosing what to order.
Here’s what we went with (pictured left to right in the main image above):
-
- The Steve
With a somewhat hipster name taken from its creator, this super sweet little number includes Ketel One vodka, Frangelico, Signature espresso and salted caramel syrup. Yes, what you can see around the rim on our photo (the one on the left with the strawberry) is none other than yummy Violet Crumble! Sweet tooths rejoice (it definitely scored lots of points with our crew).

- Signature Espresso Martini
This one HAD to be on our list! Featuring Ketel One vodka, white chocolate liqueur, Kahlua coffee liqueur and Crafted Coffee Co’s Signature espresso shaken and served straight up with a coffee bean garnish – and of course that sprinkle of cinnamon which ignites into funky sparks as it passes under the blowtorch.
- Signature Espresso Martini
-
- Cherry Bomb
OMG so good, it’s like alcohol and dessert had a delicious baby … Coconut rum, cherry brandy, Baileys, Signature espresso shot with roasted coconut dust …. droool! I wondered if the whipped cream on top would be too much, but boy did it go down easy, this one tasted better and better as it disappeared!

-
- Chocotonic
This new chocolate infused espresso martini is so fresh, it’s not even on their menu yet (but make sure you ask for one). It’s as pretty as it is tasty – it’s the one with the cute chocolate flower on top you can see in the photo below.

- Cold Drip Martini(not in main pic)
Like orange? This one’s for you. Crafted Coffee’s version of a classic martini, with a shot of cold drip coffee, Ketel One vodka, Mozart dry white chocolate liqueur, rapadura sugar with a pinch of salt. Served straight up with orange oils and a vanilla mist. Refreshing and zesty our whole team liked this one a lot (not in main pic above, it’s the one with the orange glow in the foreground below).

Coffee Lovers’ Cocktails – The Verdict
Well, I think we know how this ends – they were all amazing and the only possible next course of action is to go back and try the rest of the menu!
This new venue at the heart of The Kitchens is perfect for Friday after-work drinks. Take your time, grab a comfy couch and make sure you order a scrummy cheese platter too. Make sure you let us know if you’ve tried any of the other cocktails!
