Support for community events and initiatives
Eligible community groups now have the chance to secure funding support for their community events, projects and operational equipment through my upcoming Divisional Donations program.
There’s a total of $30,000 available – applications close on Friday 8 September.
Make sure they apply online to get the kick-start they may need: http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/community/community-divisional-donations-3345.html
Looking after our wildlife
Recently, two cygnets from one of our Robina Lakes were transferred to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital after they were found to be seriously ill.
At a recent Full Council, I pledged a $10,000 donation to the Hospital who look after our division’s sick and injured wildlife.
New solar lighting
We’re trialling solar bollard lighting at Lake Lomandra Park in Robina. If successful, I’d like to see more of them across the division! What do you think?

My next Listening Post
Come and have a chat on Tuesday 19 September at my Listening Post at Orpheus Park (off Cheltenham Drive, Robina). I’ll be there from 8am to chat with you about any local issues.
Coming soon: Club Sign-Up Day
I’m organising an event for our community to see first-hand what groups and clubs are available to them to join in the area. All local groups in Division 11 will be invited from sporting clubs, to social clubs, various community service groups and much more. This allows you to hear from the people behind all the groups that call Division 11 home. The day will include light refreshments. Stay tuned to my Facebook for the event date.
