Bleach* Festival has undoubtedly become one of the most popular events on the Gold Coast’s annual calendar – and it’s not hard to see why! The multi-arts festival is an opportunity to shine a light on our unique creativity and culture and showcase our best artists, along with renowned Australian and international collaborators.
This year’s Bleach* Festival will focus on the convergence of sport and art through the use of music, circus, theatre, dance, cabaret and visual arts, with locations across the city playing host.
Robina will take centre stage for a number of events during the cultural extravaganza, which runs from March 31 until April 16 – and we have constructed a list of those that are not to be missed!
‘Here I am!’ performance at Robina Town Centre
The kiddies are invited to participate in the ultimate adventure at the Bleach* Jnr program headquarters, Robina Town Centre.
Bringing together two art and play spaces for the tiny tots and their families, ‘Here I am!’ will be an area to release the kids’ inner creativity and build their very own community.
Children will transform into urban planners, architects, designers and community builders to create the kinds of places they want to live when they step into this magical space.
The installation will run from 1 April to 16 April on level three, just above the food atrium, and will incorporate a ‘selfie spot’ and ‘chill-out zone’.
We recommend assigning 45 minutes so the whole family can get the most out of this workshop.

Varsity Daze
You’ll feel just like Alice as she steps into Wonderland when you take a stroll down Varsity Parade this Bleach* Festival as three giant humanoids invade the strip from 31 March to 2 April between 6pm and 9pm.
Australian Visual Artist Amanda Parer created the giant adaptations to explore the role that humans play in the environment in her installation entitled Fantastic Planet.
You will be left feeling particularly small and inferior to these giant statues, just as the environment does to us. The message is to walk away re-thinking the impact humans have on the planet.
Let your hair down to electronic rock band ‘Th’Fika’, indie pop inspired ‘Austen’ and a collaboration of raw blues and vintage rock from ‘The Ruins’ on Friday 31 March from 6pm, setting the scene for the Varsity Lakes experience.

Live at Bond – Bobby Alu and The Palm Royale
Get your groove on as Bobby Alu and The Palm Royale serenade you with their signature smooth hammock tunes and laid back vibes at Live at Bond.
After travelling the globe with Xavier Rudd for the past three years, Bobby Alu will be accompanied by his band in this free outdoor concert event on Saturday 2 April from 3pm.
Gold Coast born Bobby Alu plays music inspired by his Polynesian heritage and plays songs of love, life and travel with music that will make you smile.
This will be a great event to grab a picnic rug and bring the whole family along to for an afternoon of relaxation and great vibes at Bond University.

Corrigan Walk Indigenous Art Tour
Art connoisseurs and rookies alike will enjoy The Corrigan Walk of Art Tour through Bond University on 6 April at 10am, named in honour of art patron and collector, Dr Patrick Corrigan AM.
Take a journey through the work of Indigenous artists including Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, Sally Gabori, Tommy Watson and Gloria Petyarre, and appreciate the dreamtime stories woven into each piece.
You will be exposed to Australia’s rich Indigenous culture as you stroll through Bond’s award-winning Abedian School of Architecture, which houses Dr Corrigan’s Cabori collection.
