Last year brought some much-needed change for our community. It was also an overdue opportunity to get a better deal for everyone in Robina, Varsity Lakes and Burleigh Waters.

This year will be even better with several major projects moving from the design to construction phase: sports field lighting, more CCTV in parks, major new playgrounds and congestion-busting road projects.

I’m also mindful the little things can have the biggest impact on our lives. So if there is anything that needs fixing, I want to know about it. This newsletter highlights several examples where residents’ feedback has led to action.

Remember, I am always available to meet with you about local issues that concern or interest you. My contact and office details remain the same:

See it? Report it! Easy.

Together we can report non-urgent issues that need fixing in our parks and streets through City of Gold Coast’s Report a Problem phone App. It may be overgrown garden beds, dead trees, graffiti, illegal dumping or damaged playground equipment.

Simply take a photo of the issue and submit it along with a brief description. It’s then escalated to City officers for action. Updates on the progress of the works are then available at your fingertips! It’s easy and convenient.

Download the App here: http://bit.ly/Reportaproblem

Again, my office is always available to report issues, especially those of a more urgent nature.

  • Reading and vision assistance.

Sessions are all free. Simply book your place online: http://bit.ly/GCLibrariesEvents

You can also pick-up a copy of the events calendar at Robina Library – and while you’re there, pop in to see the exhibitions displayed at the Robina Art Gallery.

Graffiti hotspots

Graffiti is nothing but an ugly eyesore and I’m on a mission to stamp it out.

If there are known hotspots near you, please drop me a line or if you’d rather take a more hands on approach, you can pick-up a FREE graffiti removal kit from my office.

In the coming months, we are looking to form a volunteer group to host regular spring clean days. They will consist of reporting and removing graffiti and picking up rubbish in our area. If you’d like to play your part in making our area cleaner, please register your interest via email to my office.
