Five Robina State School students are making music thanks to a community partnership with Robina Group which saw the students receive a range music bursaries, allowing them to participate in their music program.

In 2013 Robina Group was proud to contribute funds to the Robina State School instrumental music program which recognises the outstanding achievements of students and supports promising musicians.

The music bursary assists families with the cost of instrument hire and program fees and enables students to participate in the program who otherwise would have been prevented from doing so for financial reasons.

The bursaries also support talented students who have been invited to be part of more than one performance group but would miss the opportunity due to financial hardship.

As part of Robina Group’s sponsorship of Robina State School’s music program, twenty-six high achieving and committed students from each of the 12 performance groups were also acknowledged at the annual Twilight Concert last November, all receiving a commemorative medallion.

Five Robina Group sponsored honour boards also now take pride of place in the school’s performing arts centre recording the names of those students who have achieved outstanding success in the music performance program.

Nicole Elkins, Senior Instrumental Music Specialist said: “It was wonderful to watch the excited faces of our students when they saw their names on the new shields and honour boards. The new awards, along with fantastic student performances, ensured that we had a great concert.”
