Kids-only gym now open
The Gold Coast’s first ‘kids only’ gym has been unveiled in the heart of the city – opening at a prime site on the corner of Scottsdale Drive and Robina Town Centre Drive. MyFirstGym launched its Robina club last month; its fourth site to open in South-East Queensland in less than a year.
National Marketing Manager Bec Robertson said the gym offers classes for children from 7 months to 13 years of age.
“MyFirstGym makes it easy for parents to encourage their kids to be healthy and active,” she said.
“Our classes are focused on boosting children’s physical literacy by developing fundamental movement skills and fundamental sporting skills.
“For babies and toddlers, our programs help them develop locomotor, manipulative and stability skills.
“For older children, it’s about developing sporting skills, with a focus on speed, agility, power, balance, flexibility, co-ordination and team work.
“Robina is the ideal place for MyFirstGym, as it’s close to major facilities including Robina Town Centre, making it a convenient option for families.”
The club offers members three classes per week and unlimited free play, alongside additional options including a ‘date night’ service, which keeps kids entertained through fun instructor-led activities as well as arts, craft and games, whilst parents enjoy an evening out.
MyFirstGym Robina has proven highly successful and has already recruited close to 300 members.
“People are travelling from around the city to come to our new Robina club because there’s nothing else like it,” said Ms Robertson.
“All MyFirstGym classes are designed to be used in conjunction with the MyMovementBuddy, MyFirstGym’s own fitness activity tracker for kids.
“They can watch their scores increase in real-time during class. It’s a really great way for kids to see tangible results and the positive impact of regular physical activity.”
