Run, and a whole lot of fun, hits Robina this May

The 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival is almost here, and it’s a community fun run the whole family can enjoy!  From the serious marathon runner to the casual jogger, all are welcome to participate in the festival which starts and finishes at Robina’s iconic Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday 20th May.

Formerly known as the Gold Coast Bulletin Fun Run, the 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival will offer five different race options. Catering for all groups, fitness levels and ages, participants can choose to take part in the Half Marathon 21.1km run, 10 km run, 5 km run, 2.5 km run or even the 1 km ‘Kids’ Dash’.

Whether you’re looking to meet your own personal fitness challenge, undertake team building or bonding as a group, or just bring the kids along for a fun day out, the running festival is an inclusive and fun community event.

Why not rally some people together and sign up as a group? This is an excellent way to motivate your friends, colleagues and family members to achieve a challenge together!

Not everyone is a runner, so the festival has opened up all distances for walkers on the day. If you should decide to walk the course, you’ll just need to be off the road by 9.30am to allow for the runners coming through to the finish line.

Need some help working towards the challenge? You are invited to attend free training sessions with the Von Bibra running team at 6.30pm every Thursday night at the Magic United Soccer Grounds. There is a number of other training groups running all over the Gold Coast between now and 20th May.  Check out the festival website for details.

As the weather cools down on the Gold Coast, this is such a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors with some friends, take on a new challenge and stay active as a community!

Family and group discounts are available online, and there are fundraising opportunities for school teams entering in 2018.
