Meet the new café on the block, The Market Place

Specialty coffee, an all day breakfast menu and an earthy-infused aura perfectly sums up The Market Place, one of Robina’s newest ‘it’ spots.

Nestled in the heart of Robina, the café sits on the corner of Arbour Avenue, eagerly enticing anyone who walks by.

One glance at the sweet and savoury delicacies perched in the front cabinet, and we knew there was no going back!

Capturing the sun and light breeze that accentuates its fresh look and feel, The Market Place is a perfect option for light or hearty breakfast, a lunch break, somewhere to grab a coffee or a relaxed weekend meal.

We visited the café on a Wednesday for a spot of lunch and it was buzzing with food and drinks gracing tables left, right and centre.

The café offers an all day menu including breakfast favourites (winning!), which is extensive and sure to please all taste buds.

It was hard to choose one meal, but a classic Smashed Avocado with Poached Eggs on Sourdough, Chorizo Soft Tacos and Loaded Fries coupled with zesty cold press juices prevailed.

With friendly and efficient service, we didn’t have to wait long until we were relishing in our meals.

As a self-proclaimed Smashed Avo connoisseur, this dish more than fulfilled expectations with loads of fresh avocado, the perfect balance of dukkah, eggs my-way, sourdough toast and a splash of lemon.

The Chorizo Tacos were presented in a ‘build your own taco’ fashion stacked with avocado, fried egg, potato rasti, coriander, sour cream and a touch of lime. The loaded fries were also a tasty ‘side’ that perfectly complemented our extravaganza.

Our visit wasn’t complete without coffee and dessert, so we found ourselves sipping on The Market Place’s roaster of choice, Glee Coffee.

The specialty blend is produced with an artisan hand-crafted approach and we can confirm, lattes and sweet treats make the best dessert combination.

Baked with a perfect crunchy:dense ratio, the chocolate brownie is a must for all sweet-tooths, but if you’re after a more ‘fruity’ dessert, don’t look past the café’s succulent coconut apricot balls and abundance of raw treat options.

It is safe to say we left The Market Place very pleased with the vibe, food, service and value for money. From Acaii Bowls and pancakes, to fritters and gourmet salads – we already feel the menu calling us back. The Market Place is a welcome addition to the ever-growing suburb of Robina and is now added to our café hot-spot list.
