This morning the TLC for Kids Gold Coast City affiliate launched with a breakfast event held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Surfers Paradise.

Founder & CEO of TLC for Kids Tim Conolan was present to welcome everyone to the launch and said the charity was unique by providing support for any sick child in hospital, regardless of their illness.

“We are the most inclusive charity in the country. We’re very very proud of that,” he said.

“I commend the amazing team for the Gold Coast affiliate. For us this means the expansion of TLC for Kids services in a way we’ve never been able to do before, which will benefit literally thousands of kids around the country on a regular basis.”

Local Dale Mansfield, Team Leader of TLC for Kids Gold Coast City affiliate told the inspiring story of how she overcame a terrible spinal injury which resulted in her having an extended stay in hospital. During this time Dale met children dealing with various illnesses and felt that supporting them was her calling.

“It was an ordeal I will never forget,” she said.

“I witnessed for myself how these kids feel in hospital and everything that they go through.

“To be able to give back and put a smile on a sick child’s face is worth a million dollars to me.

“This was how the charity work on the Gold Coast started,” she said.

Over $17,000 of money and gifts was donated by the attendees with the Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council ($15,000) and Mayoress Ruth Tate ($2,000) leading the charge.
