Local All Saints Anglican College student MJ Kang has won a place at the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program next month.

The program, which is one of the most prestigious in the world, is hosted and sponsored by Yale University and is targeted at outstanding high school students across the globe.

The initiative was founded fourteen years ago as a small pre-college summer program and continues to educate international and United States students and expose students to global issues, international affairs as well as American government in comparative perspective, and policy leadership.

MJ Kang will be flying to Yale University on the 8th of July 2016 until the 22nd of July.

“I was lucky enough to be accepted as one of the few 200 students,” he said.

MJ Kang was is one of only three students from Australia being chosen to attend the event.

“Even better was that I got into my favourite session that the program has to offer, being the Biological and Biomedical science session, which is what I wish to study once I finish school”

Students attending the Yale Young Global Scholars program can expect a fantastic summer experience studying in the world famous campus lecture halls and classrooms as well as living in Yale’s historic residential colleges and eating in award-winning dining halls.

The winners will also meet fellow talented students and interact with Yale’s world-renowned professors as well as amazing visiting practitioners.
