Major health and education providers are expected to swoop on a parcel of land for sale in Robina on the Gold Coast, after the adjoining site was secured this month by a leading national healthcare organisation.

The Robina Group has launched a campaign to divest the 3,165sqm site fronting both Campus Crescent and Investigator Drive, opposite Robina State High School and Robina Hospital in the medical heart of CBDRobina.

The campaign comes on the back of national healthcare, financial services, and independent and assisted living organisation, Australian Unity, snapping up the neighbouring 3,920sqm site for an undisclosed price.

It is the second site the group has secured in the precinct in 18 months, with Australian Unity already well underway with construction of a new private hospital on a 6,662sqm site at Bayberry Lane, co-located with Robina Hospital.

The new site, ‘Lot 2’, is being marketed by Colliers International Gold Coast director Darrell Irwin and associate director Geoff Lamb through an offers to purchase campaign closing on May 12.

Mr Irwin and Mr Lamb also negotiated the sale to Australian Unity.

“Sites in the precinct are selling for upwards of $1,000/sqm and we would expect this new parcel of land to achieve a similar or higher price,” said Mr Irwin.

“We were inundated with interest from major health and education providers for the neighbouring site and believe that will again be the case, particularly given this is the final vacant parcel available on Investigator Drive.

“The location in CBDRobina’s rapidly expanding health, medical and education hub makes it a prime position for these uses in particular.”

The site is located between the 364-bed public Robina Hospital and emergency department, Queensland Health’s Robina Health Precinct building, which offers a range of allied health services, and the Campus Alpha commercial building, boasting a range of health-related tenants.

It is also in close proximity to the new private hospital being constructed by Australian Unity and education facilities, including Robina State High School, Evocca College at The Rocket and the Bond University Institute of Health and Sport.

“The location at the geographic heart of Gold Coast City, which puts 96 per cent of the population within a 30 minute drive, and proximity to both the M1 and major arterial roads adds to the site’s appeal,” said Mr Irwin.

“Developable land in such a central position is rare and CBDRobina has the unique advantage of a town planning framework that fast-tracks new development.”

The Robina Group general manager Hylton Slater said CBDRobina had become one of Gold Coast City’s most sought after business precincts with a fast growing surrounding residential catchment.

“The entire Robina community has been carefully masterplanned over three decades and this is one of the final parcels of land to be released in this medical precinct,” he said.

“We decided to divest the site on the back of the high level of interest for the adjoining parcel and to enable the Robina health, medical and education hub to continue to expand.”
