Gold Coast City Council has just announced plans to bring the light rail system to Robina and has met with engineers to get things moving.  It looks likely that the proposed east-west route will include connectivity to Bond University, Varsity Lakes Train Station and Cbus Super Stadium, plus the heavy rail at Robina Station.

This would be fantastic for Robina, already connected directly to Brisbane CBD and International Airport by the heavy rail and to the wider Gold Coast by arterial roads and bus networks, adding a light rail connection would make the geographic heart of Gold Coast even easier to access.

Funding has been secured to take the light rail to the Gold Coast Airport and the next logical solution for a fully integrated transport network is to create links out to other major infrastructure and to make both of our stadiums accessible by both train and tram.

We will certainly be happy to see the vibrant yellow trains finally make their way out here, let’s hope it happens quickly!
