The Kitchens at Robina Town Centre is open for business and has already become a buzzing little foodie hub.

The impressive $160-million restaurant precinct has attracted some of the biggest names in food including George Calombaris’ Jimmy Grants and William Wu’s Fish lab.  30 new restaurants, food retailers, cafes and bars have opened, with plenty more still to come, cementing Robina’s status as a dining destination.

The architecture of The Kitchens is spectacular, featuring a wave shaped ceiling, lovingly crafted with individual strips of curved timber.  The warm and inviting tones of the timber are paired with raw concrete and steel elements, creating a dramatic backdrop to the culinary offerings.  Spread over two levels, there are many corners to explore and discover a cosy inside corner or sun-drenched outdoor table to park up at.

There is plenty of variety on offer for even the most fussy eaters –  from Italian, Thai and Japanese food to oversized burgers, Malaysian and Hong Kong street food, raw juices, deserts and more.

We haven’t yet made our way through every new menu but we have found a few favourites including  Jimmy Grants.   You can read our thoughts on the new Greek restaurant here.

The opening was marked by a series of events with celebrity chefs making appearances such as Alistair McLeod, MasterChef’s Matt Sinclair and Gerard’s Bistro head chef Ben Williamson. Weekly night markets will commence at The Kitchens next week, further adding to the buzz and atmosphere.  The cooking demonstrations and classes have proved very popular and patrons have been enjoying regular live music appearances, showcasing local talent.

Speaking of local talent, plenty of local chefs are serving up their cuisine including James Brady, owner of Pigs and Pints who has opened Mr Pigs Bakehouse at The Kitchens, while Akira Takagi  has opened his second Muso Ramen Noodle & Gyoza Bar. Trent Scarr is behind Honeyeater Kitchen and Byron Bay’s Gemma Gawned has opened a raw-food bar called Naked Treaties.

The Kitchens is an exciting and gorgeous place to get out, be social and enjoy good times with great friends and it’s arrival, just in time for summer, couldn’t be more perfect.  So what are you waiting for, come join the party this weekend.
