Neighbourhood Watch Week: 2-8 October 2017

Neighbourhood Watch Week  will see local NHW groups host a range of events and activities.

NHW helps bring local communities and police together to address local issues and help create community solutions to reduce localised crime and the fear of crime in our streets.

Any residents interested in joining a Neighbourhood Watch group, can visit the NHWA website www.nhwa.com.au or contact my office on 07 5581 7282.

The Gold Coast District Neighbourhood Watch team is hosting a free ‘Surviving the Commonwealth Games’ forum on Tuesday 21 November from 5.30pm at the Albert Waterways Community Centre. Entry is free but bookings are required for catering purposes, visit goldcoastnhw.org for details and make sure you save yourself a seat to learn all about the impacts of the Games on your neighbourhood.

Gold Coast Tilapia Busters

The next Gold Coast Tilapia Busters event is coming soon! Pencil Saturday 4 November from 6am to 12pm in your diary.

Avid fishermen will take to our Robina Lakes to catch the pest fish species, Tilapia. The event is proposed to be bigger and better than ever with incredible prizes up for grabs. I’ll even be sponsoring a prize for the ‘Division 11 Silly Tilly’ award for the smallest tilapia caught on the day – so everyone is in for a chance to win! Our friends at the Robina Lions Club will again run a free community barbeque for participants to enjoy while the fish weighing takes place.

Make sure you come along and register your interest on the Gold Coast Fishing Fanatics official Facebook event.
