A property developer with more than 20 years experience is the latest investor in The Robina Group’s CityPods office precinct, which is more than two thirds sold or leased.

Fred Rodrigues has purchased a CityPod as an investment following decades spent developing boutique land estates in New Zealand and more than 40 apartment projects in India, before packing his bags to retire in Gold Coast City this year.

Mr Rodrigues said he had travelled to Australia in previous years and was impressed with CBDRobina’s growth and $1 billion pipeline of infrastructure and development projects underway or planned.

“For years I have been strategically developing my own projects using the same fundamentals that CityPods and Robina offer – quality design, central location and importantly, potential for growth,” he said.

“Upon retiring, I looked carefully to find an investment that ticked all of these boxes and would provide a solid return.

“Robina is very centrally located, has plenty of new developments in the pipeline and the design of CityPods appeals to a wide range of businesses, so I’m confident in this investment.

“With the Commonwealth Games on the horizon, I can see an influx of new business to Gold Coast City and Robina stands to benefit from this as it is already a well established business hub.”

The Robina Group’s $14 million CityPods office precinct is more than two thirds sold or leased with deals reaching a combined total of $10 million.
Recent sales have been to both local investors and owner occupiers who see the value in securing a stand alone office space in CBDRobina’s tightly held commercial property market.

The Robina Group General Manager Hylton Slater said CBDRobina’s unrivalled low office vacancy rate combined with the continued growth of small to medium and start up businesses meant CityPods was the right fit for Gold Coast City’s office market.

“CBDRobina has the lowest office vacancy rate in Queensland, at just 4.6 per cent, according to recent research by leading property analyst Urbis,” he said.

“We are also seeing a rapid increase in the number of small to medium and entrepreneur driven businesses that want an independent, stand alone space that can be customised to suit individual needs – and that’s exactly what CityPods is all about.

“We are catering to companies that want to be in the heart of CBDRobina’s thriving business district, in a cutting-edge office that reflects their unique business model.

“By carefully monitoring the market and delivering what our end users need, we are able to look after our investors by attracting quality tenants.

“The overall split between CityPods investors and owner occupiers is fairly even, so that is a good measure of the fact we have not only made the numbers stack up, but we have delivered a product that business owners can really see quality and value in.”

CityPods comprises 15 two-storey commercial spaces, ranging from 163sqm to 304sqm, and is home to a range of businesses including AMBS Solutions, GC Property Rentals, Pyramed, Airport Consulting Group and Austra Group.

Two furnished displays are now open to inspect by appointment.
