The Bear necessity of lunch done right

Another one of our CBDRobina staff members road-tested this quaint little Robina cafe located in the M1 Business Precinct for this edition of insideR.  The report is in:

Bear Espresso sure has a cheery atmosphere, and one wouldn’t expect the type of fine food that is presented here to be on offer.

Tucked away on Energy Circuit (off Scottsdale Drive) next to Bounce Inc in Robina, Bear Espresso may look like a simple cafe, but it holds plenty of delicious surprises.

Owner and chef Michael Smith set out to create a restaurant that delivers good food with style while still not breaking the bank.

Ask anyone who’s been there how the food and coffee is, and you’ll hear unanimous praise – it’s good, real good.

It’s pretty much confirmed by the time needed to prepare your lunch order. You won’t be getting it in 5 minutes like in other cafes, but then again you won’t be getting something that has been sitting around in a cabinet.  You’ll be served up something prepared with care, thought and expert preparation which will set your taste buds alight.

The presentation is definitely top notch and the burgers we tried for lunch were some of the best in recent memory.

You can taste the fine, fresh ingredients used, which are cooked just right. The sauce perfectly complements the juicy beef and chicken (vegetarian options are also available).

Potato chips (with the beef burger) taste like they’re actually real potatoes without having gone through a whole chemical process, and have the skin left on for extra nutritional value.

The fried chicken burger comes with sliced eggplant as your “chips” which is a nice change from the usual offerings.

Currently, the cafe offers breakfast and lunch, with dinner options in the works and coming soon.

The waffles and pancakes for breakfast looked splendid and are going to be first priority for our next trip to Bear Espresso.

If you’re passing by Scottsdale Drive, or work in Robina, be sure not to miss this gem.
