A holistic approach to health care

Achieving optimal health requires a holistic approach paired with the best healthcare providers you can find.

There’s not many places where you feel like the practitioners care as much about your health as you do and where you know you will always be greeted with a warm and friendly smile.

Allied Osteopathy is one of those rare places where you feel cared for as a patient, valued as a customer and where the treatment quality is consistently excellent.

Complementary healthcare offerings in one convenient location

It’s not just osteopathy on offer, Allied Osteopathy also offers psychology, dietetics, diabetes care, massage and dry needling, meaning you can keep both your body and mind in balance.

The team at Allied Osteopathy is genuinely invested in assisting you to reach and retain good health.  Rather than trying to lock patients in to regular and expensive visitation programs, the Allied Osteopathy team would rather see you in good health all the time, visiting for specific ailments or when you just need to recalibrate.

Allied Osteopathy was founded in 2014 by Principal Osteopath Brad McCarthy and his wife Renata McCarthy, who is the Clinic Manager & Receptionist.

Brad and Renata had long dreamed of opening an integrative health clinic to provide a holistic approach to healthcare and they have succeeded in creating a unique practice bringing together top healthcare professionals in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Their central Robina location at street level of The Rocket is very easy to access.  Many of our Robina Group team are regulars, as the location is super handy to our office, also in The Rocket.

The quality services, which come highly recommended by our team, include:

Dr Brad McCarthy – Osteopath

For those of you who don’t know what osteopathy is, it is a whole-body treatment, which can improve the function and interconnectivity of your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulatory system, connective tissue and internal organs. Gentle manipulation and massage are used to realign and attune these individual components to regain optimum whole-body function.

Osteopathy requires a clinical knowledge of anatomy and physiology, particularly the structure and function of the muscular and nervous systems, as well as advanced diagnostic skills.

Brad is very dedicated to both the practice and philosophy of osteopathy and his patients. To the layperson visitor, he appears to be a magician. Many a sore shoulder, wrist, knee, lower back and neck belonging to a Robina Group team member has been alleviated with just a few treatments.  I always feel like my shoulders are about 2 inches lower after a one hour treatment.

Brad is very focussed on a ‘whole of person’ approach and as well as taking into account any current physical ailments, he looks at what current stresses are affecting someone in their day to day life, as these can also have a significant impact on wellbeing.

In addition to helping to realign your body and alleviate your ailments, Brad can give you a range of stretches to do at home, in the shower, or at work to help keep you at your best.

Amba Graham – Massage Therapist

You are only one massage away from a good mood and in our case, we are only a short lift ride away from Amba’s magic touch.

As well as the stress relieving benefits, Amba’s deep tissue massage is a restorative necessity for those of us working in an office, being largely sedentary for hours at a time.

Working on a computer at a desk all day is particularly bad for our posture and places unnatural strain on our muscles and tendons. Shoulder, back and neck tension is extremely common for those with a desk job; muscle knots can develop from the repetitive strain and if left untreated can lead to chronic pain and discomfort.

Regular deep tissue massages can help release these muscles from their state of tension and repair fibres with a fresh supply of blood to the area.

As well as the restorative benefits, enjoying a relaxing massage is a blissful escape from a busy day – you feel better, sleep better and re-energise yourself, allowing you to access your sunniest disposition.

Renata Basile – Dietitian & Diabetes Educator

Good diet and nutrition are critical components of good health and often people need a little guidance to make sure they can reach an optimal balance.

Managing chronic disease, particularly diabetes is a lifelong challenge which requires the highest level of professional care.

Renata is able to provide expert advice in these areas to help you be the best you can be.

Dr Sharen Curtis – Psychologist

“Being based in Robina has been fantastic for my business growth, it is easy for my clients to get to and the surrounding business, lifestyle and medical amenity is first class.”

As a Psychologist, Sharen prides herself on providing clients a safe, secure and caring environment in which they can explore their current life situation. She is passionate about assisting clients identify and implement positive changes to enable them to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Dr Nina Lawson – Osteopath

Working alongside Brad, Nina also offers full body osteopathic treatments which meet the exacting standards of the Allied Osteopathy team.

If you’ve tried bowen therapy, chiropractic treatments, physiotherapy and found that nothing really alleviates an ongoing issue or that you never quite feel 100% aligned, you should definitely give osteopathy a try. Being out of alignment physically can have an impact on your emotional and mental wellbeing and can make you feel ‘not quite right’ but unsure as to what the issue is.

Osteopaths are registered primary care practitioners who treat musculoskeletal and other functional disorders of the body with gentle, manual therapy. So you can be assured that the expert treatment and care you will receive under either Nina or Brad will go a long way to improving your overall wellbeing.
